Discover the Slate Museum during the Luxembourg Museum Days (open days) on 20th and 21st of May, under the theme “Museums, sustainability and well-being”!
Program of the weekend:
The Slate Museum is, as usual, freely accessible during the official opening hours (10 am to 6pm). The ancient’s café is also open and a tour on the industrial train will be possible (upon availability and weather conditions)
INDIVIDUAL VISITS OF THE UNDERGROUND MINE “JOHANNA”
During the weekend it will also be possible to visit the underground mine “Johanna” up to a depth of -42 m, without a guide.
Sturdy shoes and a jacket are highly recommended

The Slate Museum invites you to discover the works of the artist Vincent Theret during an exhibition on slate sculptures. WARNING, the 20th and 21stof May are last days of the exhibition!!!
EXHIBITION OF PICTURES BEFORE/AFTER - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL SITE OF THE OLD SLATE QUARRIES OF HAUT-MARTELANGE INTO A HERITAGE AND MUSEUM SITE
This exhibition offers a complete overview over the works done by the ‘Friends of Slate’ since 1992 to transform and develop the emblamatic former slate quarries of Haut-Martelange into an exceptional patrimonial and museal site.
