• Free guided tours of the Thillenvogtei Museum as well as workshops for children and adults
Time slots can be reserved on site
• Workshops and information stands from tourism partners and associations of the “Wëlle Westen”
• Free activities & games for children: face painting, wooden games, duck fishing, “school hour” workshop & waffle baking, photo corner, quiz with fantastic prizes, slate workshop, craft workshop, live sewing demonstration & crochet workshop and much more!
• Food & drinks: barbecue stand, fries, pizza baguette, pasta, cakes, crêpes, cocktails, …
• Musical entertainment:
- From 11:00 AM: Musical performances by the Music School of the Canton of Redange
- From 1:45 PM: Concert Les Gavroches
- From 4:30 PM: Concert Powerblech
On June 29th and 30th, the third edition of our much-anticipated "Weekend vum Wëlle Westen" unfolded with great success! Hosted by TouristInfo Kanton Réiden, this vibrant tourist festival welcomed participants of all ages to celebrate in the picturesque town of Useldange.
The festivities kicked off on Saturday, featuring a variety of booths around the historic Useldange castle, and continued on Sunday with a rally through the village. The event was officially opened with the participation of the Museksschoul Kanton Réiden, moderated by Christian Schmit, and the helpful support of “Kultur - a Buergfrënn.” Distinguished politicians and honored guests were also in attendance to mark the occasion.
Visitors were treated to a plethora of entertainment, delicious food and drinks, games, and activities throughout Saturday. The castle courtyard and ‘Millenhaff’ were bustling with regional booths offering interactive workshops such as face painting, crafting knights' swords and shields, petting alpacas, picking herbs, and engaging in slate workshops—ensuring fun for the whole family! Musical performances by Djembe, Lou Tenant & Band, Les Troubadours d'Aliénor, and Powerblech provided a lively soundtrack to the day’s events.
Special attractions included free guided tours of the Useldange Castle, suitable for both children and adults, a performance by the fascinating Dollarmatti, and a guided walk with Potty Lotty along the “Wiichtelcherswee”.

The 2nd edition was a complete success and attracted not only tourists from Luxembourg and abroad but also national politicians to the Slate Museum site.
This year, the event took place at one tourist location only and not at 4.
Thus, every year it is the turn of a different location to invite the guests of the ''Weekend vum Wëlle Westen''.
The 1st edition of the ''Weekend vum Wëlle Westen'' took place on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2022.
In 2022, the event took place simultaneously at 4 tourist locations: Castle of Useldingen, Thillenvogtei in Rindschleiden, the Mill in Beckerich and the Slate Museum in Haut-Martelange.
A free shuttle bus was available to take participants from one location to another.
